Statement
My goal is to create artworks that capture the essential aspects of the subject matter, and that can make the distance between viewers and the object to zero. I believe the works that make this possible are expressed in a very simple form, with least peripheral information attached to the object itself, and that have a materiality allowing viewers to feel the reality of the object. Where I have reduced information, a marginal space appears, and viewers are able to supplement that marginal space with whatever form they like. I want to create such a mutual relationship between viewers and my artwork.
私が目指しているのは、対象の本質的な部分を捉え、鑑賞者とその対象との距離をゼロにすることができる作品を制作することです。それを可能にする作品は対象そのものに付随する周辺的な情報をできるだけ削ぎ落とした非常にシンプルな形で表現されたものであり、またその実在を感じることができる物質性を備えたものであると考えています。情報が落とされた場所には余白が生まれ、鑑賞者はその余白を好きな形に補完する事ができる。鑑賞者と作品とのそのような相互関係を私は作りたいのです。
